Plastic sheeting trembles in the wind, temporarily standing in for walls.
Metal reinforcements echo dents in bodies.
A construction site exists only in transition.
Voices of workers are recorded between dustand short breaks.
Gypsum boards function as screens, bearingtraces of abrasion
and smoothed plaster.
3D scans and digital patterns circulate, looped to imitate matter.
Invisible labour is measured in hours and inextracted bodies,
slipping past one anotherfrom 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The site is shaped by gentrification:presence fades as value increases.
Workers move through spacesthey will never inhabit.
Knowledge is carried in bodiesrather than in plans.
Visibility is promised, then deferred.
The construction site emerges as a relationalfield
—between plastic and skin, the virtualand the physical,
permanence and extraction.
