Onsen water, field recordings, 2 × large Petri dishes, electrical equipment
Dimensions: 40 × 12 cm (each)

Field recordings and sound installation based on underwater recordings from an onsen, created with and without the presence of the human body. The captured sounds form an onsenscape — a sonic landscape of the onsen — which is reintroduced into the water through playback.

Two vessels containing water respond differently to these sonic conditions, creating distinct movements and formations. The work explores how the body becomes a temporary agent shaping the acoustic, material and spatial conditions of the environment.
